The Royal College of Radiologists and the Society and College of Radiographers have issued a joint statement announcing a new Imaging Services Accreditation Scheme (ISAS) Standard which comes into effect today replacing the 2013 version.
The Standard, a joint college initiative, is a patient-focused accreditation scheme that helps imaging services to manage the quality of their services and make continuous improvements. Accreditation visits and assessments are carried out for the colleges by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).
The Standard is regularly reviewed and updated by radiologists, radiographers and lay people. It has been updated to account for changes in professional guidance, diagnostic imaging practice, technology, legal requirements, patient, staff and customer expectations.
