Purpose of assessment

The Diploma in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology (DDMFR) exam is a requirement for satisfactory completion of specialist training in dental and maxillofacial radiology. It examines candidates on all aspects of dental and maxillofacial radiology against the curriculum. The Part A exam also addresses the basic sciences of physics, anatomy and techniques.

DDMFR Part A - purpose of assessment statement

Structure

The DDMFR Part A comprises two modules. The anatomy module consists of a written paper and an image viewing component. The radiological sciences and techniques module consists of a written paper only. The exam is normally held in March and September each year. 

Entry requirements

Candidates who have passed the Physics module of the First FRCR exam in Clinical Radiology are permitted to enter the DDMFR Part A exam once a minimum 12 months of accredited dental and maxillofacial radiology training has been completed.
