Clinical oncology curriculum
Aim
To meet patient and service need by ensuring that trainees develop the specialty-specific capabilities necessary to become a consultant clinical oncologist providing a high-quality service in the NHS, alongside the shared capabilities required of all oncologists and the generic professional capabilities expected of all doctors.
Assessment
The programme of assessment for clinical oncology is described in the curriculum. It comprises an integrated package of formative workplace-based assessments (WPBAs) and summative examination of knowledge and skills, which will sample across the curriculum.
