RCR Global Training Accreditation
Accrediting excellence in specialist training worldwide
Our RCR Global Training Accreditation (GTA) programme supports organisations around the world to benchmark, strengthen and showcase excellence in postgraduate training in clinical radiology and clinical oncology.
Built on the College’s expertise in education, standards and quality improvement, GTA provides a clear pathway towards global accreditation for organisations at different stages of their training journey. Whether you're seeking accreditation for an established training system, developing a new programme or enhancing existing provision, GTA can support you at every stage.
Our approach recognises that excellent training can be delivered in different ways across diverse healthcare systems. Organisations are not expected to replicate UK training models. Instead, GTA provides a framework that helps you strengthen postgraduate training while retaining local ownership and context.
All activity is guided by our standards framework, which sets out the core characteristics of high-quality postgraduate training. Our approach is collaborative and developmental, helping you identify strengths, priorities and practical next steps to enhance training quality over time.
Who is GTA for?
GTA is designed for organisations commissioning, delivering, developing or overseeing postgraduate training programmes in clinical radiology and clinical oncology.
You do not need to be ready for accreditation before contacting us. We welcome early conversations with organisations at different stages of training development.
Your organisation may be looking to:
Strengthen governance and quality assurance processes
Develop curriculum, assessment and supervision models
Improve trainee experience and support
Benchmark training against internationally informed standards
Demonstrate commitment to excellence through external accreditation
Ways to engage with GTA
Support Hub
For organisations seeking access to RCR expertise and resources to support continuous training improvement.
Organisations can access the GTA Support Hub, providing practical resources including:
Guidance documents
Templates and frameworks
Examples of good practice
Quality improvement tools
Shared learning opportunities
Joining the hub does not represent accreditation or assessment by the College but provides organisations with resources to support ongoing development.
Working towards accreditation
For organisations ready to undertake a structured review against GTA standards.
We will work with your organisation to understand your training context, identify strengths and development areas, and support progression towards accreditation.
This includes:
Review against the GTA framework

Ongoing review and benchmarking
Our review will result in an action plan that we will agree with you, along with a realistic timeframe for working towards meeting the actions identified. On acceptance of the action plan and timeframe we will recognise your organisation’s commitment through the award of ‘Working Towards Accreditation’ status.
