Role Overview
RadReach is an initiative established to promote equity, inclusion and widening participation across our specialities. The RadReach Chair provides strategic leadership for the programme, overseeing its development, delivery and evaluation. Working closely with the Steering Group and supported by the RCR Professional Networks team, the Chair leads the annual RadReach engagement day and acts as a senior ambassador for the initiative within and beyond the College.
Key Responsibilities
The Chair will lead and support the RadReach Steering Group, providing clear leadership and oversight of the programme. Responsibilities include planning and delivering the annual programme of events. The Chair will support mentor and mentee recruitment and ensure that each cohort is getting a high quality experience. The Chair will also champion RadReach at senior level, , contribute to communications and engagement activity, and advise on strategic mentoring and EDI priorities.
Who Can Apply & Time Commitment
Applicants must be Fellows of the RCR currently practising in clinical radiology or clinical oncology in the UK, with demonstrable leadership experience and a strong commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
A clear interest in mentoring is essential, and experience supporting individuals from widening participation or underrepresented backgrounds is desirable.
We welcome applicants who are comfortable working across both RCR faculties.
We particularly welcome applications from individuals with lived experience of widening participation.
This is a voluntary role with a three year term, requiring an average commitment of 1–2 hours per week. Time commitment may vary across the year, with increased activity during planning for the annual engagement day and key mentoring cycles. The role is primarily remote, with opportunities to contribute to events usually held in London.
