Each year, several prizes are awarded to authors of outstanding research papers published in the RCR's scientific journals.
Awards from Clinical Radiology
- The Editor's Medal is presented to the first author of the best paper published in Clinical Radiology in a given year.
- The Ella Preiskel Prize is awarded annually to the most outstanding paper on paediatric radiology published in Clinical Radiology.
- The Ellis Barnett Prize is awarded annually to the most outstanding paper with ultrasound published in Clinical Radiology.
- The Robert and Elma Kemp Harper Prize is awarded annually to the best paper on gastrointestinal radiology published in Clinical Radiology.
Awards from Clinical Oncology
- Clinical Oncology Early Career Investigator Award: to show support for early career researchers, each year the Clinical Oncology journal gives awards to three outstanding papers where the lead author was a trainee at the time of submission.
- The Frank Ellis Medal is presented to the first author of the best paper considered to have made the best contribution to advancing the cause of science in cancer treatment or in the use of radiation in the management of benign disease published in Clinical Oncology in a given year.
RCR-NIHR Outstanding Clinical Radiology Researcher Award
- Available to: NHS clinical radiology trainees and consultants who are Fellows or members of the RCR in active research
