Clinical Oncology Digital Learning Site-Specialty Lead
RCR Learning is at an exciting and pivotal point in the development of our offer within e-learning. We will work with site-specialist leads as part of our Clinical Oncology (CO) Digital Learning Leadership Group, dedicated to developing new resources and reviewing existing ones.
2025 saw the launch of our new e-learning platform, RCR Learn, which will offer a curated selection of high-quality and interactive educational resources relevant to the specialty, as a key membership benefit for our Fellows and members.
We are looking to recruit oncologists across the full range of site-specialty interests and those with a strong interest in new technology to lead on developing the content further within their area of expertise, fully supported by the RCR e-learning team. This will include the creation of interactive contouring and radiotherapy planning related to your specialty and reviewing, updating, and creating new site-specific interactive content.
We have vacancies for Clinical Oncology Digital Learning Site-specialist Leads in the following sites:
-
Breast
-
Lung
-
Upper Gastrointestinal/ Hepatobiliary
-
Uro-oncology
-
Neuro-oncology
-
Sarcoma/Paediatric oncology
-
Technical radiotherapy
-
Systemic therapy development
We are aware that many oncologists will have more than one area in which they feel they could lead the development of e-learning content in, and we would be pleased to receive applications from those who can lead in one or more areas.
The site-specialist leads will form part of a Digital Learning Leadership Group alongside the CO Digital Learning lead, Dr Alison Cameron, and the RCR Team. The faculty will collaborate together to develop these new resources and help to recruit and co-ordinate oncology colleagues and liaise with site-specific groups and radiologists to assist in the development of these resources.
Results of an RCR insight panel have guided the initial development plans, which noted a strong preference for resources relating to contouring and planning, new technology and comprehensive site-specific resources, including updates on new practice-changing research. Therefore, the group will initially focus on:
- Development of contouring atlases for tumour sites and OAR/ gold standards for interactive online contouring
- Development of a highly interactive ‘fundamentals’ e-learning course, covering the key anatomy and oncology treatment for the site
- Review of site-specific material currently on RCR Learn, with development of material to fill gaps and refresh out-of-date material
- Bite-sized anatomy and OAR contouring demonstrations
In addition, the faculty will work with the new CO Exam Preparation Lead regarding the development of e-learning resources related to FRCR exam preparation efforts.
