Standards for interpretation and reporting of imaging investigations published
We are pleased to announce the publication of: Standards for the reporting and interpretation of imaging investigations, third edition.
This document has been written by and for radiologists, who are experts in interpreting medical imaging, with contributions from other professional groups. In keeping with the role of The Royal College of Radiologists as defined in its royal charter, it defines the expected standard of care for reporting radiological investigations. It underpins radiologists’ role as leaders and experts in medical imaging but should apply to all who interpret and report imaging, regardless of their professional background.
A post-publication webinar will be held for this guidance on Tuesday 10 February 2026 (17:15-18:00). For more information and to register please visit our events page.
The RCR extends its gratitude to Dr Dominic Blunt, Dr Chee Gan and Mr Simon Ainsworth for their contribution to the development of this guidance.
