Dr Dinah Constance Henderson

 Dr Dinah Constance Henderson

Dinah Henderson was born and educated in Edinburgh gaining her medical degree from the university there. She then held various jobs in London, Ireland and eventually at The Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street. She had hoped to become a paediatrician but due to ill health was advised to train in radiology, which entailed less pressure and fewer night calls.

01 January 1924 to 12 August 2014

She became a consultant radiologist at Edgware General Hospital. She had to take early retirement after a heart attack and this was a great sorrow to her as she loved her career.

She was married to Dr Peter Hopper who predeceased her and they had a daughter, Barbara. After retirement Dinah enjoyed her garden, art galleries and the theatre. Her final years were trying with many health problems and she eventually had to move to a residential home. Her husband died in December 2013 and Dinah died peacefully on 12 August 2014 aged 90.
