The programmes of assessment for clinical radiology and interventional radiology are described in their respective curricula. They comprise an integrated package of formative workplace based assessments (WPBAs) and summative examination of knowledge and radiological skills, which will sample across the curriculum.
Assessment will take place throughout the training programme to allow trainees to continually gather evidence of learning and to provide the formative feedback essential to improving clinical practice. These assessments will inform judgements made about progress at the annual review of competency progression (ARCP). Decision aids are available to support ARCP panels in making these judgements.
WpBAs should be recorded in the trainee's Kaizen e-portfolio and trainees may also use Kaizen to record other evidence of their progress against the capabilities in practice (CiPs) described in the curriculum.
Guidance on the content of the first FRCR examination can be found below and more information on all of the FRCR examinations can be found on the examinations web page.

2021 ARCPs
Please note: ARCP decision aids for 2021 ARCPs (where trainees will be assessed against the 2016 curriculum) have been updated to reflect the impact of COVID-19 on training and derogations to the Gold Guide. The amended decision aids can be found on our 'Trainee progression and coronavirus (COVID-19)' page.

Please note that dates given in this video have not yet been updated to reflect the delay to curriculum implementation. Trainees are not expected to transfer to the new curriculum until after their ARCP for the 2020/21 training year.
