Research awards

The following RCR awards relate to research activity and the Academic Committee oversees their adjudication. The purpose, criteria and previous recipients for each are set out on the individual award pages.

The Roentgen Professorship is generously funded by the publishers of the Clinical Radiology journal in order to encourage research within the specialty.  The Roentgen Professor will visit a minimum of five UK training schemes for the purposes of stimulating and encouraging research in clinical radiology.

2023 Research Grants & Fellowships 
 

2 Kodak Fellowships – up to £65,000 each
To undertake a research project or further a radiological interest. Matched funding from organisations is strongly encouraged. Eligibility: RCR Eligibility: RCR Member or Fellow, UK clinical radiologist

To undertake a research project in order to collect pilot data for a high-quality competitive grant application e.g. to a research council or charity. Eligibility: RCR Member or Fellow; UK clinical radiologist.

To undertake a research project or further a radiological interest. Projects should be of at least 3 months. Eligibility: RCR Fellow, UK clinical radiologist

To undertake a research project or further a radiological interest (preferably related to cross-sectional or paediatric radiology). Eligibility: RCR Member or Fellow, UK clinical radiologist
