Why this role exists
This role exists to support the review and development of RCR guidance, ensuring it is evidence-based, inclusive and reflective of current clinical practice and service delivery. In this project, the working party will review and consolidate two existing ultrasound guidance documents that are due for review into a single, updated resource, addressing developments in technology, governance and practice. This work aims to ensure guidance remains relevant, reduces duplication and supports safe, high-quality ultrasound services across diverse healthcare settings.
Your impact
You will directly shape national guidance by contributing expertise to the review and consolidation of ultrasound standards, ensuring they reflect developments in technology, governance and practice, real-world service delivery, and are applicable across diverse healthcare settings. You will also contribute to a collaborative, multidisciplinary process, ensuring a broad range of perspectives are represented in the final guidance.
Commitment and conditions
Contributors at the RCR play a vital role in supporting the College’s initiatives and driving its progress. Although our Contributor positions are undertaken on a voluntary basis, each role has optimal impact when Contributors dedicate sufficient time to fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted to them.
It is anticipated that the guidance development project will take between 12 to 18 months from initiation to publication. The working party will disband following the delivery of the post launch webinar.
All meetings will be held via Microsoft Teams. Working party meetings will be arranged during the drafting period and following the consultation period to support finalisation of this guidance. Members are expected to make reasonable effort to attend these meetings.
The majority of correspondence will be via email and working party members are required to actively engage with each stage in the development of the guidance.
