Vacancy - Peer-Review Trainees for Clinical Oncology
Published monthly, Clinical Oncology has an international readership and an excellent reputation. It is a highly valued member benefit, supporting research and education across the Faculty of Clinical Oncology.
Critical appraisal of scientific literature is a core component of oncology practice, yet formal opportunities to develop these skills are often limited within standard training programmes. Peer review provides a valuable way to strengthen academic writing, deepen critical analysis, and assess the scientific merit and clinical relevance of emerging therapies.
To support the development of these skills, Clinical Oncology has established a peer-review training programme. This initiative provides oncology residents (post FRCR) with the opportunity to build confidence in academic peer review, critical appraisal and scientific writing under the guidance of the journal’s editorial team.
Applications should be sent to [email protected]. Appointments will be decided by the Editor-in-Chief.

The Peer Review Trainee scheme (starting September 2026) offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced editors. In this role, trainees will contribute to maintaining high standards of peer review, build skills in academic assessment and editorial processes, and contribute to maintaining the high standards and academic quality of the journal.
