Portfolio Pathway Champion
About the role
The Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR) is a key route to Specialist Registration with the GMC. Candidates must collate a significant portfolio of evidence demonstrating that they meet the professional capabilities of a consultant clinical radiologist or oncologist.
The Portfolio Pathway Champion role is a key contact point and support to colleagues within their region who are preparing a portfolio application. They will provide expert leadership and hands-on guidance to support their peers in submitting robust and thorough applications improving their chances of a successful outcome. The role is also a unique opportunity to interact with Portfolio Pathway Champions from other regions and expand your professional network.
Eligibility and term
Applicants must:
Be a current member in good standing of the RCR
Hold a current license to practice and listed on the GMC Specialist Register in either Clinical Radiology or Clinical Oncology
Demonstrate relevant experience
The appointment will be for a period of three years, at which time the role will be reviewed, and the post-holder may be re-appointed if appropriate and agreed.

Portfolio Pathway Champions provide hands-on support to applicants compiling their evidence for Specialist Registration with the GMC ensuring that they submit high-quality, robust applications and helping them to navigate the next step in their careers,
What we're looking for
We are seeking clinical radiologists and clinical oncologists with experience or knowledge of the Portfolio Pathway route. You will be adept at providing critical, constructive feedback on portfolio structure and evidence quality, able to encourage and mentor peers and colleagues and facilitate opportunities for candidates to acquire the necessary experience for a successful application.
Time commitment
The time commitment will vary based on the number of applicants in your region but will average 2-3 hours per month. During the induction period, new Champions will attend an introduction to the RCR and a session on the resources/toolkit available to support applicants. Ongoing contact with and support from the RCR will continue throughout their term
