QSI Quality Mark Reviewers
Who they are
QSI Quality Mark reviewers are experienced imaging professionals, including radiologists, radiographers, medical physicists and other healthcare specialists. They bring a wide range of clinical and professional expertise to the review process.
Reviewers support imaging services through a fair, constructive and supportive assessment. Using their knowledge and experience, they recognise good practice, explore how standards are met in day‑to‑day work and help identify opportunities for improvement.
All reviewers are trained and work as part of a wider review team. They take a proportionate and respectful approach, supporting services to improve quality, safety and the patient experience, while also sharing learning across the imaging community.
What they do
As part of a QSI Quality Mark review, reviewers:
Assess documents and evidence to understand how a service meets the Quality Standard for Imaging, applying the standards fairly and consistently.
Take part in reviews that may be delivered on site or remotely, supported by preparation and evidence review.
Contribute to the review report, sharing strengths, feedback and recommendations, guided by the Quality Review Partner.
Work in line with QSI values of respect, professionalism, integrity and making a difference, while maintaining confidentiality throughout the process.
Being a QSI reviewer has been a really rewarding experience. It’s a great opportunity to step outside your own service, see how other imaging departments work and learn from the way different teams approach quality, safety and improvement. It’s very much a supportive process, focused on sharing good practice and helping services reflect on what’s working well and where they can strengthen things.
Personally, reviewing has been extremely valuable for my own development, particularly in relation to governance, assurance and quality improvement. I’ve taken a lot of that learning back into my own organisation and it’s genuinely helped to inform and support our own accreditation journey. I would definitely encourage colleagues with an interest in quality and service improvement to get involved- it’s worthwhile, practical and you can see the difference it makes for both patients and staff.
