Five reasons to attend the RCR 2nd Global Radiology Conference

The RCR’s 2nd global radiology conference will be held in Dubai from 19-21 April 2024.

I’m delighted to be collaborating again with some of the leading United Arab Emirates (UAE) health organisations and the Pan Arab Association of Radiological Societies to raise awareness of the career-long support the RCR offers in the region – and across the globe.

We’ll be showcasing our ‘Best of British' specialist clinicians alongside influential speakers from across the UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Ethiopia, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, and India, to create a truly unique global faculty.

We’re looking forward to packing a lot into three days, and I hope you can join me in Dubai.

Here are five good reasons to join me at the conference

1. Learn from world-class experts in the field of radiology

This year’s event has attracted a fantastic line-up of global trailblazers in radiology and oncology.

We’ll have more than 100 speakers who are leaders in their fields, led by our President, Dr. Katharine Halliday, who will host the opening ceremony alongside Dr. Abdulla Alremaithi, President of the RSE (Radiology Society of the Emirates).

Module leads include Dr. Salman Queshi (UAE), Prof. Tarek El Diasty (Egypt), and Dr. Sarah McWilliams (UK).  We’ll be joined by renowned clinical experts representing societies from around the world – including UAE, India, Egypt, Malaysia, UK, and Japan.

2. Access to a wide range of workshops and scientific sessions

The challenge our Organising Committee set was to ensure we give delegates and speakers a great experience that matches our ambitious theme ‘Radiology Driving Innovation.’

To deliver on that, we developed a scientific programme covering more than 40 sessions across four parallel streams. This will be complemented by optional interactive workshops taking place each day on a range of topics that include head and neck, interventional radiology, musculoskeletal radiology, paediatric imaging and much more.

3. Share knowledge and increase cross-cultural collaboration

What sets our conference apart is its diverse wealth of expertise from around the world and the unique opportunity for shared knowledge. At our most recent global conference, 39 different countries were represented. Our learning environment is perfectly created to enable clinicians to enhance their professional competence, seek out fresh thinking and interact with others with a dedication to professional development.

4. Expand your professional network

One of the joys of attending an event in the beautiful city of Dubai is the unique opportunity for our Fellows and members around the world to meet face-to-face, and network with members of societies in other countries.

There will be plenty of opportunities for you to meet and interact with senior radiologists from the UAE and other parts of the world during lively coffee breaks and dynamic social gatherings.

5. Boost your Continued Professional Development (CPD)

You’ll also be awarded CPD points for attending lectures, presentations, and workshops.

Additionally, you’ll have access to a trade show where you can find out about products, services and technology that supports the world of radiology.
