Write sample FRCR Part 1 questions

RCR examinations are an internationally recognised benchmark of excellence as well as a vital element of UK training. The RCR is developing a bank of sample Part 1 Clinical Oncology exam single best answer questions to aid clinical oncology trainees in their preparation for this exam.

We are aiming initially to provide questions relating to each paper, i.e. physics as applied to radiotherapy, radiobiology, cancer biology including molecular biology, the pharmacology of systemic anti-cancer treatments and medical statistics.

We are seeking to recruit a panel of 10 clinical oncology trainees who have successfully completed the Part 1 exam to contribute to the development of this question bank by each writing sample questions with brief explanations of the right and wrong answers.

Time commitment: This project is expected to be completed within one year.  Participants will be expected to submit their draft questions for peer review, prior to expert review, by agreed deadlines and to attend virtual meetings at agreed intervals. Participating trainees will be invited to attend a question writing workshop, receive a formal letter of thanks from the College as well as gaining valuable experience in the process of designing and writing examination questions.

If you are interested in contributing to this important project for the benefit of future clinical oncology trainees, please send a brief CV as well as no more than 200 words as to why you would be suitable for the role to RCRLearning@rcr.ac.uk by 5 July 2021
