This is an exciting opportunity to join the high performing RCR Exams Quality Team. In this varied role the Examiner and Committee Administrator will be able to multitask to support and service the RCR’s exam committee meetings. You will provide secretariat support for committees as well as organising facilities, travel, accommodation, dinners, and expenses. You will also manage the examiner recruitment, induction and training process.
The successful candidate will be high-functioning, have superb minuting skills and be a good communicator who is able to work collaboratively with colleagues, examiners, and chairs of relevant committees. With excellent administrative skills it is important that the successful candidate has a commitment to providing a professional, friendly and proactive service.
What you’ll do:
- Ensure all committees within your remit are well supported and serviced by working closely with each Committee Chair.
- Prepare quality agendas, gaining sign off from the committee Chair before circulating in good time for the meeting.
- Manage examiner recruitment materials such as terms of reference, job descriptions, scoring criteria and advertising/promotional communication.
- Continuously review the examiner recruitment, induction and training processes, making recommendations and implementing improvements in line with best practice.
- Support examiners with travel and accommodation bookings where appropriate, in collaboration with the RCR’s appointed travel agent and the RCR’s Facilities function.
- Evaluate and grow our examiner appreciation work, implementing gratitude activity that encompasses both small gestures and inputting to more significant volunteer activities with the wider organisation
What you’ll need:
- Demonstratable experience of working in a committee support role.
Experienced in providing administrative support and managing administrative processes, systems and procedures. - Experience of committee procedures and processes, including preparing agendas and writing accurate minutes and actions.
- Experience using and maintaining a database or equivalent to store and retrieve information so that information is kept up to date and available.
- Clear and analytical thinker with the ability to exercise sound initiative, judgement and discretion and think through issues to offer practical solutions.
- Highly organised, able to multi-task and work under pressure whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior clinical consultants
