Reviewing and learning from reporting discrepancies, which may arise with the benefit of hindsight and additional information, can provide evidence of reflective practice and can provide a learning opportunity to enhance patient safety.

The College is currently revising this guidance in light of the case of GMC v Dr. Bawa-Garba.
