The Royal College of Radiologists is a charity that works with our Fellows and members to improve the standard of medical practice across the fields of clinical radiology and clinical oncology. We obtain information from you when you register to receive information alerting you to public education events and information, attend or view one of our public education events, and submit feedback via a print or online form, or when you contact us for further information regarding any of our public education resources and activities.
The personal data we may collect in order to register you for an event or information may include your name and email address.
We may use your information to alert you to future public education events and information. It may also be used to provide full responses to queries and improve our communications and services.
These activities (conducted either by the RCR or a third party) are counted under legitimate interests according to Article 6(1) (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation.
Your information will be viewed by our External Engagement team. It will be held on a secure database which only authorised members of staff have access to. We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
You have the right to ask us to provide you with access to and rectification or erasure of your personal data. Providing you this information is free of charge, but charges may apply for excessive requests. To contact us about the data we hold on you, please email the Data Protection Officer
Any complaints regarding the method in which we handle your data may be logged by sending an e-mail to complaints or sending a letter to our registered address for the attention of the Chief Executive. Should you be unhappy with our processing of your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioners Officer.
We keep your personal data for two years for administrative purposes and aggregate data thereafter for statistical purposes. We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. We are legally required to hold some types of information to fulfil our statutory obligations.
