Product Owner - Customer Relationship Systems

Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum dependent on experience, plus excellent benefits 
Location: Central London with flexible working 
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week 
Contractual status: 18-month fixed-term

We are looking for an experienced strategic thinker to join The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) in the role of Product Owner, heading up a large-scale programme of work to develop a new business critical Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. The RCR is growing medical charity that’s focused on supporting doctors to deliver medical imaging and cancer services. The Product Owner – CRM is a new and exciting role for a talented, business focussed individual to manage the development of a CRM product throughout the product life cycle from planning to execution, in order to deliver an exceptional user experience to doctors around the world.   

To be successful in this role you will need to have a commercial and customer focussed mindset. You’ll be a skilled communicator, working with a variety of key senior stakeholders across the College, building an understanding of the way the College operates currently and how it will develop over time, to enable you to orchestrate the development of a future proofed system, that will allow us to deliver our ever-evolving offer seamlessly. You will use the detailed organisational knowledge you develop to ensure the project is led by the business needs, with the ultimate aim of creating a system that aids our mission of improving medical imaging and cancer care globally.  

What you’ll do:  

  • You will work with function leaders to understand their current ways of working and their future plans for their area of work to be able to deliver a system that enhances the way in which that work is delivered. 
  • You will understand these function plans within the context of the organisations ambition, enabling you to effectively and strategically prioritise business needs throughout the development of the CRM system. 
  • You will bring together the business knowledge you gain in the role with your knowledge of systems to be able to develop and articulate a product vision for the CRM, communicating that across the staff group and engaging them in the work. 
  • You'll be responsible for the successful delivery of a fit for purpose, user-centric CRM system, through working with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • You'll line manage the Business Process Improvement Manager, supervising them as they reengineer existing business processes to ensure they are optimised for delivery via the CRM. 
  • You’ll determine the functional and non functional requirements and interdependencies across the organisation, drafting them into product specifications with accompanying user acceptance criteria for testing processes and accompanying scripts.  

What you’ll need:  

  • Experience of working with a mix of stakeholders to gain an understanding of business activity. 
  • Experience of being part of a complex project team 
  • Quantitative and business analysis skills. 
  • Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex subject matter clearly for varying audiences.    
  • Strategic thinker able to plan in the context of the bigger picture. 
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, able to adjust to shifting priorities. 
  • Ability to analyse complex problems.  
  • Good interpersonal skills.
