Building the radiology and oncology workforce for the future.
The workforce crisis is one of the most important issues to our members. We’re speaking to parliamentarians to highlight the difficulties facing our specialties and how this affects patient care.
Soon the Chancellor will set out his funding plans for the NHS. We need to make sure he invests in the clinical radiology and clinical oncology workforce for the benefit of patients.
We can work together to increase the number of clinical radiologists and clinical oncologists in the UK. Help us make sure the Chancellor knows workforce is a critical issue by asking your Member of Parliament (MP) to raise it with the Secretary of State.
Although health is a devolved issue and the Chancellor cannot directly fund more training places for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, any funding for training places in England will result in increased funding for devolved administrations through the Barnett formula. Therefore, it is just as important to lobby MPs in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
