Leicester PMCT Course for Radiologists
A PMCT for Radiologists course is being run 6-8th February 2023. It is being led by Professor Bruno Morgan and Dr Aparna Deshpande, both consultant radiologists with many years PMCT experience.
The course is intended for radiologists interested in reporting PMCT scans of non-suspicious deaths. Trauma and suspicious deaths are discussed but are not the main focus.
It will be held in the Radiology department at Leicester General Hospital (LGH). Directions to the venue will be circulated nearer the time.
It will run between 09:00 – 17:00 each day.
The cost is £800.
Course content
The course will consist of a series of lectures, guided review of scans followed by discussion of those scans and will –
Introduce PMCT and show how to differentiate decomposition from normal scan findings in deceased patients
Explain the techniques involved and the associated challenges
Provide sessions on cardiac, respiratory, neurological and gastrointestinal pathologies
Present the pathologist’s perspective on PMCT
Explain how a PMCT service can be run.
A USB stick of all the cases and course notes will be provided for delegates at the end of the course for later personal study.
