Led by Dr Stephen Harrow, Consultant Clinical Oncologist Edinburgh Cancer Centre
Re-irradiation is a highly individualised treatment which is being increasingly used for selected patients. It is an area of practice that currently lacks strong evidence leading to variation in its implementation across the UK.
To help clinical oncologists considering re-irradiation for their patients the RCR is working to develop some guiding principles and hosting an event to discuss the clinical, physics and radiotherapy issues around retreatment.
Key highlights of this event:
- Professor Nicolaus Andratschke will be discussing the work of the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer
- Opportunity to discuss the new RCR Principles for Re-irradiation
- Hear more about different approaches to re-irradiation challenges
- Discuss the difficulties faced designing clinical trials
Registration will be from 10.00 with the first session at 10.30. The day will close at 16.00
