Web Content Writer job vacancy

Salary: £35,863 - £39,639 per annum dependent on experience, plus excellent benefits
Location: Central London with flexible working
Hours: Full-time/35 hours per week
Contractual status: 6 to 8 month fixed-term contract (dependent on start date) 

This is an exciting opportunity for a content professional to join The Royal College of Radiologists’ (RCR) Marketing & Digital Team as part of a wider website redevelopment project.

We are looking to recruit an experienced, confident, and talented Web Content Writer who will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, they will be responsible for reviewing, updating, and redesigning content to optimised for users and the new website. Using their expertise, the Web Content Writer will use their instinct for producing engaging exciting and digital content to help determine the best content structure for the various web pages in line with the content migration plan. 

The successful candidate will also play a key role in the migration and testing of content on the new website, supporting the move from one site to another.  With creative flair you will create digital content and drive to work collaboratively with colleagues to produce strong web content for members and other audiences. What you’ll do:

  • Help develop, design and deliver updated content four our new website in line with our content strategy and website aims.
  • Work with stakeholders to define their requirements, plan updates and deliver improvements. 
  • Write engaging, audience focused copy for a variety of audiences sourcing relevant imagery and other digital media. 
  • Build a content map / library for the new website, ensuring that all content is accounted for can be monitored going forward. 
  • Help to migrate content from the existing site to the new one.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for content to stakeholders and users as needed following launch. 


What you’ll need:

  • Experienced copywriter, able to communicate clearly and engagingly to different audiences
  • Experience of different content management systems and using these to create and publish content
  • Experience of leading on web content creation, supporting and advising multiple authors and contributors
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build good working relationships with different teams, working in a collaborative way
