Governance Assistant job vacancy

Salary: £34,155 per annum increasing to £37,751 following two years continuous service, plus excellent benefits   
Location: Central London with flexible working   
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week   
Contractual status: Permanent  

We are looking for a talented individual with experience of or desire to deliver high-level executive support to join The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR), assisting the governance work across the RCR. The RCR is growing medical charity that’s focused on supporting doctors to deliver medical imaging and cancer services. The Governance team is at the heart of the organisation and the Governance Assistant will be working closely with the President, CEO, Elected Officers, Governance Manager, wider Governance team, and Senior Management Team to ensure the smooth running of the College.  

To be successful in this role you will be an enthusiastic team player who understands the importance of the support you will provide to our busy leadership team, consistently delivering a brilliant service to assist the day-to-day delivery of core governance functions. In addition to providing executive support, you will assist with reviews of internal governance processes and policies, the organisation and delivery of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the election process for Officer, board and committee vacancies. 

  What you’ll do:   

  • Provide administrative support to the President and Chief Executive by taking calls, tracking the progress of activities, managing their diaries and making travel arrangements  
  • Ensure that papers and briefings are updated and available to enable the smooth running of allocated boards and committees 
  • Service the allocated boards and committees through the preparation of agendas and minutes 
  • Prepare the annual College Calendar and updating it through the year  
  • Monitor and respond to queries from members and stakeholders  

What you’ll need:   

  • Significant experience providing executive support or high-level diary management. 
  • Advanced knowledge of the of administrative processes, systems and procedures  
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail  
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task  
  • Ability to work towards set timescales and deadlines  
  • Good stakeholder management  
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
