CR George and Vera Ansell abstract competition 

Submissions are invited for Clinical Radiology Scientific abstracts as part of the George and Vera Ansell abstract competition which is held annually as part of RCR18. Abstracts should be based on scientific research in the area of Clinical Radiology. Abstracts can be entered for ePoster display or oral presentation, and both trainees and consultants are encouraged to submit. 

Applications must be submitted online through the online CR George and Vera Ansell abstract competition form

  • Abstracts will be selected to either give a 10-minute oral presentation or produce an ePoster to be displayed on giant tablets at RCR18, the RCR website and the RCR18 conference app
  • Oral presentations will be eligible for a proffered paper award for which the first prize is £250. The proffered paper presentations will take place during the lunch period on Monday 10 September 2018
  • ePoster presentations will be eligible for the Ansell Poster Prize: £250 first prize, £125 each for two highly commended ePosters
  • All accepted abstracts will be given citable references and included in a Clinical Radiology online supplement published by Elsevier
  • 3 CPD credits for the lead author and 1 for each co-author are awarded for posters displayed at RCR18

CR Audit competition

The Clinical Radiology Audit Poster competition takes place at the RCR's Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) each year. Lead authors of audit posters displayed in this competition are awarded three CPD credits and co-authors are awarded one credit. First and second prize winners receive cheques. Abstracts of all posters accepted for display are published as a supplement in the journal Clinical Radiology. The competition is designed to encourage radiologists, radiographers and colleagues to carry out audits and to recognise the importance of clinical audit in improving patient care and outcomes.

Applications must be submitted online through the RCR website CR Audit competition form

  • Abstracts of all ePosters accepted for display are published in a supplement of Clinical Radiology
  • First and second prize winners receive cheques
  • Authors of audit ePosters displayed at the RCR18 are awarded CPD credits (3 for the lead author and 1 for co-authors)

CO Wormald abstract competition 

Submissions are invited for Clinical Oncology Scientific abstracts as part of the Wormald abstract competition which is held annually as part of RCR18. Abstracts should be based on scientific research in the area of Clinical Oncology. Abstracts can be entered for ePoster display or oral presentation, and both trainees and consultants are encouraged to submit. 

Applications must be submitted online through the online CO Wormald abstract competition form. 

  • Abstracts will be selected to either give a 10-minute oral presentation or produce an ePoster to be displayed on giant tablets at RCR18, the RCR website and the RCR18 conference app
  • Oral presentations will be eligible for a proffered paper award for which the first prize is £250. The proffered papers presentations will be held during the lunch period on Tuesday 11 September 2018
  • ePoster presentations will be eligible for the Wormald poster prize: £250 first prize, £125 each for two highly commended ePosters
  • All accepted abstracts will be given citable references and included in a Clinical Oncology online supplement published by Elsevier
  • 3 CPD credits for the lead author and 1 for each co-author are awarded for posters displayed at the RCR18
