The Quality and Standards Operations Manager (QSOM) is a new role for The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR). They will lead part of the Professional Practice team, within the directorate of Education and Professional Practice.
The main function of this role is enabling volunteers to develop and support standards and projects, based on evidence where available, for the delivery of cancer and imaging services.
This will largely fall into two key areas:
- Overseeing the work to support the Quality Standard for Imaging (QSI), which is jointly owned by the RCR and the Society and College of Radiographers (SCoR). QSI emphasises the importance of quality improvement within imaging services. The QSOM will enable the Quality Improvement Partners to support services across the UK on their quality improvement journey.
- Managing the work of the project development officers who deliver key projects supporting Faculty priorities; including our consensus statements programme.
Internally, the QSOM will lead with their team and work with colleagues from across the College, including elected officers, on a range of topics seeking to support our membership.
Externally, the QSOM will need to build excellent working relationships with colleagues at SCoR and UKAS to ensure we build on the success of QSI.
This is an exciting time to join the RCR and the Professional Practice team as we seek to support our members and fellows following Covid and its’ impact on the NHS and cancer and imaging services.
If this sounds like the opportunity for you please see the Quality and Standards Operations Manager candidate pack for more information on the role, the RCR and for instructions on how to apply.
The closing date for applications is midnight on Sunday 14 March 2021. First stage interviews will take place on 22 March with final interviews scheduled for 29 March 2021.
