Reflecting on your CPD
The GMC recognises that reflection has an integral role in learning and improving practice, and it is an important element of the annual appraisal and revalidation process. As part of the five-yearly revalidation cycle, the annual appraisal requires doctors to document their reflections to demonstrate insight into their work.
The RCR CPD scheme allows doctors to claim additional credits for reflecting both on the CPD activities undertaken and on the longer term impact of those activities on your practice.
The RCR has developed a generic template, which can be used by both clinical oncologists and clinical radiologists to reflect on a variety of activities related to revalidation, including CPD activities. The template also allows doctors to document what they have learnt and what likely impact this will have on their professional pratice and patient care.
Two credits can be claimed for completing the template, one for reflecting on activities undertaken and one for the impact the activity has had on your professional practice.
