Nuclear medicine

The Nuclear Medicine Specialty Training curriculum runs for 6 years with a requirement to undertake Core Radiology Training with the RCR and complete the FRCR examination during the first 3 years.

There is a common recruitment process for appointment to radiology training and Nuclear Medicine trainees will require two years of core training and MRCP or equivalent prior to entry to the specialty.

Trainees are required to become members of the RCR for the 3 years of core training.

After core training, trainees undertake higher Nuclear Medicine Training and complete the Diploma in Nuclear Medicine before obtaining their CCT with the Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board (JRCPTB).
