In acknowledging the already crowded nature of undergraduate curricula, this curriculum has been kept concise and focused on important and frequently occurring events and conditions and basic radiological diagnoses.
Most importantly, the contents have been specifically linked to elements of the new Foundation curriculum so that the rationale for inclusion is evident. In addition, some examples of assessments are provided.
Medical students need first-hand experience and should be encouraged to experience radiology departments in action and to be involved in the radiological investigations and interventions of their patients.
Second edition (2017)
The curriculum has been reviewed and updated and the second edition is now available. This edition refers to the relevant outcomes and capabilities outlined in Outcomes for Graduates (Tomorrow’s Doctors) 2015 and in the latest iteration of the Foundation Programme curriculum (The Foundation Programme Curriculum 2016).
