Next appointment in September 2017 (for the 2018 Professorship)
A biennial travelling professorship formed by the combination of the funds of the Couch Award and the Sir Peter Kerley Lecture designed to further enhance the quality of training in radiology.
This Professorship gives the opportunity for UK training schemes to receive a visit from a senior teacher, from the UK or abroad, whose lectures will complement the existing programme. The visits offer the opportunity for trainees to broaden their knowledge of radiological practices as experienced in different centres of excellence. The Professor will make visits to a number of UK training schemes over a 2-3 week period around the time of the Annual Scientific Meeting and deliver the Couch Kerley Lecture at the ASM.
All travel expenses, plus an allowance of up to £200 per day (a maximum of £6,000 in total) and free registration at the RCR's Annual Scientific Meeting.
A senior radiology teacher from the UK or abroad. Please note that the appointee need not necessarily be a high flyer in research, but should have a good education and teaching track record.
The appointment process:
The Professor is appointed by the Board of the Clinical Radiology Faculty on the basis of recommendations made by the Specialty Training Board. This recommendation is formed on the basis of suggestions made by a panel of two of its members.
