Faculty and partnership working

The Boards and Committees of the Faculty of Clinical Oncology are responsible for managing and overseeing the work of the Faculty in accordance with the aims set out in the RCR's Strategy 2017-2020. A plan has been produced for each Faculty. These detail how the College Strategy will be delivered. The plans were approved by the Faculty Boards at their meetings in February 2017 and will be reported on in the Annual Review.

A multi-professional approach to the delivery of non-surgical oncology services in the UK is of fundamental importance in optimising cancer care and achieving best outcomes. Therefore clinical oncologists must work in partnership with other medical specialties and health professionals at both local and national levels towards this goal. This multi-professional partnership in non-surgical cancer care is supported by several committees which facilitate collaborative working by professional bodies at a national level on matters of policy, provision of expert opinion and delivery of professional guidance.
