Wednesday 15 November 2023, 9:15-17:00 (BST)
Led by: Dr Ganesh Radhakrishna, The Christie Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Oesophago-gastric cancer covers two of the less survivable cancers in the UK and is an area of unmet need for research and a priority to improve patient outcomes. This masterclass will be based on complex case scenarios and then opened to experts in the field to discuss options including any new trials and state of the art treatments in the UK. The Masterclass will provide an overview of:
- The current state of the art precision radiotherapy options for oesophago-gastric cancers including re-irradiation
- The role of radiotherapy in oesophago-gastric cancers
- Upcoming trials and options for future radiotherapy research
The afternoon session will be a workshop with an outlining session with two cases examining the oesophagus and the stomach with Aqualab.
Learning outcomes
- Get updates on the current and future treatment strategies in oesophago-gastric cancers in the UK from leading experts in the field
- Discuss and debate the clinical management of complex oesophago-gastric cancer cases
- Understand the priorities for future clinical research in oesophago-gastric cancers for the UK
