A new clinical oncology research event was held to provide information on research and academic career opportunities and to encourage participation in academic careers. It is intended that this event will be held every other year in different centres of excellence.
RCR Clinical and Radiation Oncology Research Training Meeting
Held on 27-28 June 2017, hosted by the Oxford Institute for Radiation Oncology
The event was principally aimed at clinical oncology trainees wishing to develop, or further their academic career.
The meeting included:
- Career development advice for people interested in research, further degrees and post-doctoral pathways
- 1:1 mentoring with leaders in research
- Tours to offer an insight into exciting research projects from bench to bedside
- Opportunities to network with peers and world-leading clinician scientists
