A one-day course, as a next step course from Supervisor Skills for the more experienced educational supervisors who would like further ideas and support, with regards to maximising the potential of trainees in the face of barriers and special needs to training progression. The workshop will include an afternoon of case based role play. As an interactive workshop, delegates are expected to participate in all activities.
This course will include the following areas in greater depth:
- Neurodiversity and learning styles
- Differential Attainment and CESR
- Feedback
Learning Outcomes
- To be able to identify trainees requiring extra support early
- To evaluate different approaches to supporting trainees, including EDI awareness
- To have strategies to ensure trainees are able to meet curriculum/ portfolio requirements
- To manage workload to prevent trainee and supervisor burnout
- To develop greater competency in conducting difficult conversations

Who should attend
A specialist course designed to engage more experienced educational supervisors to update and develop strategies to overcome barriers to success in supporting their trainees to CCT. For those who have already completed Supervisor Skills/ Train the Trainer or similar within the last five years and have at least two years’ experience as an educational supervisor.
