Auditing Radiological and Pathological Correlation of Renal Tumour Size : Changing MDCT Reporting Practice
  Background to the audit
Accurate measurement of renal tumours is required to plan appropriate treatment, particularly nephron-sparing interventions. Recently introduced Royal College of Pathologists' standards for histological measurement of renal tumours advise that maximum tumour diameter in any plane be recorded; this is at variance with our current radiological practice of bi-dimensional axial multidetector CT (MDCT) measurements. Is there any evidence that we should change our practice?
