e-learning: R-ITI

R-ITI is the innovative award-winning e-learning resource for trainee radiologists. The R-ITI was a collaborative project between the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) and the Department of Health (England). The project concluded in March 2007 and the RCR is now responsible for updating the electronic database (e-LD) which is a key component of the resource.

The work of update and maintenance falls to the e-LD Editorial Board.

The College is hugely indebted to the large number of authors and module editors who produced the e-LD to produce such a unique resource.

Accessing R-ITI

Registration for R-ITI is now available. Please visit R-ITI to register now. Once your details have been validated, you will be issued with a username and password granting you access to the R-ITI e-learning sessions from any internet-connected computer.

We are aware that a few hospitals' IT firewalls make accessing the e-LD difficult within these hospitals although it should always be possible to access it from a home PC with appropriate internet access. e-LfH will provide the following support:

  • Establish contact with your Hospital Trust IT Department.
  • Liaise with IT to ensure correct firewall ports are opened along with the overseeing of correct local Computer configuration where R-ITI/e-LD will be utilised.
  • Meet with your local R-ITI/e-LD Administrator to ensure all functionality is available to correctly view R-ITI content. Training will also be provided during this visit. Training will include navigation of the e-LfH R-ITI content, along with the administrative tasks necessary to ensure the local R-ITI Administrator contact is well versed to deal with any queries as the first point of contact. This will typically include the ability to create new R-ITI/e-LD users, administer accounts and change passwords. Step by step documentation will be provided to ensure this information is at hand for the local Administrator.
  • Maintain an on-going relationship with the RITI Administrator and be available to receive escalations as and where necessary.
e-LfH is happy to re-visit any R-ITI/e-LD Administrator who may need further training or just a refresher on training previously received.

Arrangements are in hand to license access to the e-LD to colleges, institutions or universities outside the UK. Email Andrew Hall for more details.
