Patient information

The College's Lay Forum produces a range of patient information on interventional radiology, diagnostic radiology and oncology procedures.

Departments are welcome to use the text provided as it stands for the purposes of incorporation into their own patient information leaflets or inclusion in other information provided to patients in advance of their appointments, subject to the appropriate acknowledgement as set out below. Each template is provided in Word format to download the text.

Interventional radiology templates

These templates were prepared by the lay members of The Royal College of Radiologists and the British Society of Interventional Radiology (BSIR) with the assistance of clinical radiologists. They are intended as information for patients who are recommended to have any one of these 15 specific interventional radiology procedures, and as a starting point to aid discussions with the patient's consultant clinical radiologist, prior to obtaining informed consent.
