The wider NHS

• Time for work for the benefit of the wider NHS - this letter (PDF) is signed by the UK's four Chief Medical Officers, the NHS (England) Medical Director and the Chair of the GMC, and sent to all NHS organisations. It asks them to look favourably on requests from doctors for absence to undertake national work of benefit to healthcare systems across the UK (specifically referring to Royal Colleges), and is testament to the strong work by the Colleges on behalf of their members and Fellows.
