There are many consultant radiologists who dedicate their time and effort to deliver high quality teaching and training of radiology trainees. The purpose of this award is to identify and acknowledge those individuals whose hard work is often unrecognised.
The JRF Trainer Award, which was introduced in 2010, is presented annually to a UK-based consultant radiologist who has made an outstanding contribution to radiology teaching and training at a local, regional or national level.
All nominations will be considered by the JRF Executive at their Spring meeting and a worthy recipient will be selected. Should a member of the Executive feel they have a conflict of interest, they are obliged to declare this. In the event of a tie, the Chair will have the casting vote.
The winner will be invited to receive their award at the Autumn 2013 Admission Ceremony. The award will be acknowledged in the JRF section of the RCR Newsletter and on the RCR website. All nominated trainers will receive a letter of commendation from the JRF and the winner will be presented with an engraved trophy.
The process of nomination, selection and presentation of the JRF Trainer Award is, and shall remain, the responsibility of the incumbent JRF Executive. Any decision made by this group shall be completely separate from any other committee within, or other award(s) issued by, the RCR.
A nomination form must be completed for each nominee. Nominations should be submitted to Sara Townsend sara_townsend@rcr.ac.uk by Friday 8 March 2013.
